- Albufeira kayak tour
Beach base on Praia do Inatel run by SUPA: guided SUP and kayak tours to the caves and cliffs, surf lessons and sunbeds. No jet-ski or parasailing confirmed under this name.
Who Albufeira Watersports Center are
Albufeira Watersports Center is a name you meet on Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook rather than on a website of its own. The map listing we found in August 2026 gives an address on Avenida Correeira in Areias de São João, the Oura side of town, and links to supalbufeira.com. That site belongs to SUPA, Stand Up Paddle Albufeira, Lda., a small company founded by Bruno Godinho and Tiago Dinis that runs a beach concession on Praia do Inatel, the city beach next to the Old Town, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a hut for its boards and kayaks. SUPA is registered as a tourism operator (RNAAT 133/2015) and insured through Mútua dos Pescadores.
So the honest description is this: the operator behind this name is a paddle and surf school on the sand, not a jet-ski or parasailing company. Older copy on this site called it a jet-ski, parasailing and water-toy desk. We could not confirm any of that on the operator's own pages, and the jet-ski and parasailing listings we found for Albufeira on the platforms belong to other providers. If a motor toy is what you want, skip to the section on where those are booked.
SUP tours, kayak tours and surf lessons from Praia do Inatel
SUPA describes itself as a company that uses only human strength and nature as resources, which is a fair summary of what it sells. When we read its site the menu was three products, all bookable online through FareHarbor:
- Guided SUP tour, caves and cliffs, about 2 hours, €35. A group paddle along the cliffs east or west of the town beaches, into the small caves the coast is cut with, depending on the sea. Instructors hold SUP and lifeguard certificates.
- Guided kayak tour, caves and cliffs, about 2 hours, €25 to €35. The same coast in a sit-on-top kayak, the easier option for two people who want to share a boat. Guides teach paddling technique on the way and reviews mention GoPro clips of the trip.
- Group surf lesson, about 2 hours, €40. Run by coaches with Portuguese Surf Federation credentials, on whichever beach has a wave that day.
The map listing also mentions pedal boats, towed rings and jet boat rides, which is typical of a summer beach concession, but the operator's own site does not list them and the platform listings under this name that we tried to open were no longer available. Treat those as maybe. Prices above are the operator's own when we checked and can change; the live booking page is the rule. For how these paddle trips compare with the other kayak names in town, read our kayak and SUP guide.
None of this reaches the Benagil cave. Benagil is a long way west of Albufeira for a paddle, and the guided kayak trips that do go inside it start from Benagil beach under the Capitania rules (east entrance, about eight minutes inside, no landing). See our Benagil cave guide if the cave is the point.
Where jet-ski and parasailing in Albufeira are really booked
Because this page ranks for the motor toys, here is where they are. Our jet-ski and parasailing guide has the full picture; the short version is three names and three beaches.
- Ski Molhado on Praia da Oura is the classic beach desk: parasailing, jet-ski, banana, twister and ringo rides, waterski and wakeboard, plus pedal boats, kayaks and SUP, and a crewed boat by the hour. If you are staying on The Strip this is the walk-down option.
- Dream Wave at Marina de Albufeira runs parasailing and jet-ski hire alongside its cave and dolphin speedboats. Listings we saw give a 30-minute jet-ski slot, a minimum age of 16 and a check-in 15 minutes before the start.
- Nauticdrive at Praia dos Tomates in Olhos de Água, east of town, sells 20-minute jet-ski rentals on two-seat Yamaha skis with a briefing; its listing bars non-swimmers, pregnant women and phones on the water.
- Ocean Quest and Parasailing Vilamoura fly from Vilamoura Marina, the next resort east, which means a taxi each way.
On any of those, the listing's age, weight and licence line is enforced on the sand, weather holds are normal for parasailing, and a missed slot is not refunded. None of them includes a cave tour unless the title says so.
Who Albufeira Watersports Center suits, and who should book elsewhere
Book SUPA if you are staying in or near the Old Town, want a quiet two hours on the water without an engine, and like the idea of paddling into small caves under the cliffs with a guide who explains what you are looking at. It suits couples, teenagers and reasonably fit adults who can swim. The surf lesson is a good rainy-sea alternative when the paddle trips are cancelled for swell.
Book elsewhere if you want speed, a sail or a towed ride, if anyone in the group cannot swim, or if the whole point is the Benagil cave. For a boat that passes Benagil with a dolphin search on the way, the 2.5-hour caves and dolphins tour from the marina costs from about €34 when we checked in August 2026; that is the GetYourGuide card on this page, and its provider is not this operator.
Where Albufeira Watersports Center check in
The paddle and surf sessions meet at SUPA's beach spot on Praia do Inatel, a few minutes on foot from the Old Town square, not at the marina. The Maps address on Avenida Correeira is the company's office side, so follow the meeting point on your booking confirmation rather than the map marker. If you are combining a paddle morning with a boat in the afternoon, the boats leave from Marina de Albufeira; see our marina guide for the walk between the two.
How to book and what to check on the listing
SUPA takes bookings direct on its site through FareHarbor, and its kayak trips also appear on Airbnb Experiences. We did not find its products on GetYourGuide when we checked. Before you pay, check:
- Which product and beach: SUP, kayak or surf, and where the session meets that day.
- Sea state rule: paddle trips are cancelled for swell and wind; the operator decides on the morning and should refund or rebook.
- Swimming ability and age: guided paddle trips assume everyone can swim; ask about children under 12 before you book.
- What is included: board or kayak, paddle, life jacket and guide are standard; wetsuit and photos vary.
- Whether any cave you are promised is a small cliff cave near Albufeira or the Benagil cave, which these trips do not reach.
Season is roughly April to October, with July and August the busiest weeks and the calmest morning water. Book a day or two ahead in peak season; the groups are small.
Albufeira Watersports Center compared with Ski Molhado, Ocean Quest and the kayak specialists
Ski Molhado is the direct comparison if you want a beach base with everything from SUP to parasailing on one card; it is on Praia da Oura rather than Praia do Inatel, so pick by where you are sleeping. Ocean Quest is a Vilamoura catamaran and parasailing operator, a different town and a different product. For guided paddling that goes further, Albufeira Caves Kayak and Benagil Kayaks are the specialist names, with the second starting from Benagil beach itself. SUPA's advantage is a licensed, small-group paddle from the most central beach in town; its limit is that the engine-powered toys the name suggests are sold by someone else.
FAQ: Albufeira Watersports Center
Does Albufeira Watersports Center rent jet-skis?
Not that we could confirm. The website linked from the map listing belongs to SUPA, which sells guided SUP tours, kayak tours and surf lessons from Praia do Inatel and describes itself as human-powered only. Jet-ski hire in Albufeira is sold by Ski Molhado on Praia da Oura, Dream Wave at the marina and Nauticdrive at Praia dos Tomates in Olhos de Água; see our jet-ski guide.
Is Albufeira Watersports Center the same as SUPA?
The map listing under that name links to supalbufeira.com, and the activities reviewers describe, guided paddling with instructors and GoPro clips, match SUPA's products, so we treat them as the same beach base. SUPA is the registered company, Stand Up Paddle Albufeira, Lda., RNAAT 133/2015. If a listing under the Watersports Center name offers something SUPA's site does not, such as a jet boat ride, confirm it with the provider before you pay.
Where is the meeting point?
Sessions meet at SUPA's beach concession on Praia do Inatel, the city beach a few minutes' walk east of the Old Town square. The address shown on Google Maps, on Avenida Correeira in Areias de São João, is not the launch point, so follow the meeting instructions in your booking confirmation. The marina, where the cave and dolphin boats leave, is a separate 20-minute walk west; our marina guide covers it.
How much do the SUP and kayak tours cost?
When we read SUPA's site in August 2026 the guided SUP tour to the caves and cliffs was €35 for about two hours, the guided kayak tour €25 to €35 for about two hours, and the group surf lesson €40. Those are the operator's own figures and can change with the season, so check the live FareHarbor page before you book. Life jacket, board or kayak, paddle and guide are included.
Do the kayak tours go to the Benagil cave?
No. SUPA's paddle trips explore the small caves and cliffs near Albufeira's own beaches, which is a two-hour outing at paddle speed. Benagil is much further west, and the guided kayak tours that enter it start from Benagil beach under the Capitania rules: east entrance, about eight minutes inside, no landing. Our Benagil cave guide explains the boat and kayak options that do reach it.
Can children join a SUP or kayak tour?
The operator's site does not publish a minimum age, so ask before you book. Guided paddle trips assume everyone can swim and can hold a paddle for two hours; a child sharing a double kayak with a parent is usually the workable option, a child alone on a SUP board is not. Life jackets are provided. For a family that includes non-swimmers, a boat trip from the marina is the safer choice.
What happens if the sea is rough?
The operator decides on the day. Paddle trips are cancelled for swell and wind because the small cliff caves become unsafe to enter, and you should be refunded or moved to another slot; a surf lesson may still run when a paddle does not. If you cancel late or do not show up, expect no refund. Morning sessions are generally calmer than afternoon ones on this coast.
