albufeira.boats is run by a small editorial team led by Laura Melo Almeida. You can reach us at hello@albufeira.boats. These terms explain what the site is, how we earn money, and what we can and cannot be responsible for. They are written in plain language on purpose; if anything is unclear, email us and we will answer.
What albufeira.boats is
The site publishes independent information about boat trips from Albufeira: what each format shows, what tickets include, typical prices and the rules that apply in the Benagil cave. We are not a ticket seller. We do not run boats, hold seats or process payments. We have no agreement with Marina de Albufeira, with any operator we review (Dream Wave, AlgarExperience, X-Ride, Algarve Charters and the others on our operator pages) or with any booking platform. Operators cannot pay for placement or for a kinder write-up; about us explains how we research each page.
Affiliate disclosure
We take part in the GetYourGuide partner programme under partner id YYB3OI9. When you follow a booking link or use a booking calendar on this site and complete a purchase, GetYourGuide may pay us a commission. That money comes out of the platform's share, not from you: you pay the same price you would pay on getyourguide.com directly. Some pages also mention Viator, CheckYeti or an operator's own website as places to compare prices. A mention is not advice to buy there and does not mean we have an agreement with them. Our booking guide explains which platform suits which situation.
Prices, hours and rules can change
Every guide shows the date we last checked it. Prices such as "from about €34" are what we saw on the listing at that time; they move with season, boat and demand. Departure times, durations, age limits, luggage rules and what is included are set by the operator and can change without our knowledge. The Benagil navigation rules we summarise come from the Capitania do Porto de Portimão and can be amended at any time. Before you pay, read the booking page: it is the version that counts. If our page and the booking page disagree, the booking page wins, and we would like to hear about it so we can fix the guide.
Your booking is with the operator or platform
When you buy a ticket, your contract is with the operator or the platform that takes your money, never with us. Their terms govern the cancellation window, refunds when the skipper cancels for weather, what happens if you miss check-in, and liability for anything that happens on board or at the marina. We cannot change, cancel or refund a booking, and we cannot contact the boat on your behalf. For a GetYourGuide booking, use the help section of your GetYourGuide account; the platform's own terms apply. Our prices guide explains what typical tickets include, so you know what to check before you pay.
External links
We link to operator websites, booking platforms and official notices so you can verify things yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data. A link is not an endorsement. If a link is broken or points somewhere it should not, tell us and we will fix it.
Intellectual property
The text on this site is ours. The illustrations were generated for the site and belong to albufeira.boats. You may quote a short passage with a link back to the page; please do not copy whole pages or republish our illustrations. Operator names, boat names and platform names belong to their owners and are used only to describe what each company offers.
Corrections and takedowns
If you find a wrong price, a closed operator, an outdated rule or a description of your business you think is unfair, email hello@albufeira.boats with the page URL and what should change. We usually answer within two working days and correct confirmed errors quickly. If you own content you believe appears here without permission, use the same address and we will look into it. The contact page lists what to include so we can act on the first email.
Changes to these terms and governing law
We may update these terms when the site changes, for example if we join another partner programme. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version, and continued use of the site after that date means you accept it. These terms are written under Portuguese law. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, and nothing here changes the terms of a booking you make with an operator or platform. Our privacy policy covers what data the site collects and why.
FAQ: Terms of use
Is albufeira.boats an official ticket seller?
No. albufeira.boats publishes information about boat trips from Albufeira and links to places where you can book. We do not sell tickets, hold seats or take payments, and we have no agreement with Marina de Albufeira, any operator or any booking platform. When you pay, the operator or platform on your voucher is the seller, and its terms apply to the trip.
Does booking through your links cost me more?
No. We are a GetYourGuide partner (id YYB3OI9) and may receive a commission when you book after following one of our links or calendars. That commission is paid by the platform out of its own share. The price you see on the booking page is the same price you would see going to getyourguide.com directly, and it can go down or up with season and demand.
Who do I contact if my boat trip is cancelled?
The operator or platform you booked with, using the details on your voucher. Weather cancellations are decided by the skipper; if the operator cancels, its terms say whether you are refunded or rebooked. For a GetYourGuide booking, use the help section of your GetYourGuide account. We cannot cancel, change or refund a booking, and we cannot reach the boat on your behalf.
Why is the price on your page different from the booking page?
Because prices move and our pages are dated. When we write "from about €34", that is what the listing showed on the date printed on the page. Season, boat type, departure time and how full the boat is all change the figure. The booking page always shows the current price and conditions; if it disagrees with our page, the booking page is the one that counts. Email us so we can correct the guide.
Can I use your text or illustrations?
You can quote a short passage with a link back to the page, which is normal editorial practice. Please do not copy whole pages or republish our illustrations, which were generated for this site and belong to albufeira.boats. Operator, boat and platform names belong to their owners; we use them only to describe what each company offers. For anything beyond a short quote, email hello@albufeira.boats first.
Which law applies to these terms?
These terms are written under Portuguese law, because the site is edited in Portugal and describes trips from Albufeira. They do not take away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live. They also do not change the terms of any booking: a dispute about a trip, a refund or an accident follows the terms of the operator or platform you paid, and the law those terms name.
