albufeira.boats is a small guide site. It shows editorial pages, a few GetYourGuide booking widgets and links. This page explains in plain language what data that involves: what the site itself keeps (very little), what the third-party widgets do, what happens if you email us, and what rights you have.
What this site itself stores
The site is a set of static pages. It has no user accounts, no login, no shopping basket and no newsletter form. We do not set analytics cookies and we do not run advertising trackers of our own. The only thing the site may keep on your device is a language preference, so that once you choose English or Portuguese you stay on that version as you move between guides. That preference lives in your browser, not on our servers, and lasts as long as your browser keeps it. We do not ask for your name, date of birth, party size or travel dates anywhere on the site.
What the GetYourGuide widgets and links do
Some pages show a live availability calendar or a booking button. These widgets are loaded from widget.getyourguide.com, which means your browser sends a request to GetYourGuide's servers when the page opens. GetYourGuide can then see your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy (linked in the sources below). We cannot read those cookies and we cannot switch them off from our side.
Every booking link on this site carries our partner id, YYB3OI9. It tells GetYourGuide that you came from albufeira.boats so we can earn a commission if you book; that is how the site is funded, as explained on the about page. The id does not carry your name or any other detail about you. If you would rather not load the widgets at all, read the guide without clicking the calendar and book later on a device or browser of your choice.
Once you are on GetYourGuide, or on any other platform described on our booking pages, that company is responsible for your booking data: your name, payment details and the confirmation. Questions about a booking, a refund or your data there go to them, not to us. Our contact page lists what we can and cannot help with.
If you write to us
If you email hello@albufeira.boats we keep the message and your address for as long as we need to answer it and to correct the page you wrote about. We do not add you to any list and we do not pass your address to operators or platforms. If you want the email deleted, say so and we will remove it from our inbox and confirm. Please do not send passport numbers, card details or medical information; we never need them.
Hosting logs
The site is served by a hosting provider. Like most hosts, that provider may keep standard server logs for a short period: IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser type. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running. We do not combine them with anything else and we do not use them to build profiles. The provider's own privacy notice governs how long they are kept.
Your rights under the GDPR
The EU General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. To use any of these rights, write to hello@albufeira.boats from the address you used and tell us what you want. We aim to answer within two working days and within one month at the latest. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) or to the authority in your own EU country.
We cannot access, correct or delete records held by GetYourGuide or any other booking platform. For those, use the platform's account settings or its privacy contact.
Children
The site is written for adults planning a trip. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and nothing on the site asks a child for information. If you think a child has sent us personal data by email, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If we add a new service to the site, such as a contact form, a newsletter or analytics, we will update this page before it goes live and change the date shown at the bottom. The terms page covers how the site itself may be used.

FAQ: Privacy
Does albufeira.boats use cookies?
Not for analytics or advertising. The only thing the site may keep on your device is a language preference, so that you stay on the English or Portuguese version as you move between guides. It lives in your browser, not on our servers, and disappears when you clear your browser data. Pages that show a GetYourGuide widget may also receive cookies set by GetYourGuide, which are covered by its own policy.
What does GetYourGuide see when I open a page with a widget?
The widget is loaded from widget.getyourguide.com, so your browser sends a request to GetYourGuide's servers. Like any web request, that reveals your IP address, browser type and the page you are on. GetYourGuide may then set its own cookies. We do not receive any of that information. Does the partner link tell GetYourGuide who I am?
No. The link carries our partner id, YYB3OI9, which tells GetYourGuide that you arrived from albufeira.boats so we can earn a commission if you book. How do I ask you to delete my data?
Email hello@albufeira.boats from the address you used before and ask for deletion. In practice the only personal data we hold is email you sent us, so we remove the message and your address from our inbox and confirm when it is done. We aim to reply within two working days, as described on the contact page, and within one month at the latest, as the GDPR requires.
Can you delete my GetYourGuide booking or account?
No. Bookings are made on GetYourGuide or on one of the other platforms listed on our booking pages, and those companies hold your name, payment and confirmation details. To change, cancel or delete anything there, use your account on that platform or its privacy contact. We never see your card number or your booking reference, so we cannot act on them even if you ask us to.
